Jim's Biography

Senator Jim Waring has been a tireless advocate for responsible government in Arizona. First elected to the State Senate in 2002, Jim has earned a reputation as a fighter of wasteful government spending, a champion of job-creating policies, an advocate for border security, and a steadfast proponent of tough-on-crime public safety policies.

FISCAL ACCOUNTABILITY

Jim is committed to fighting massive spending in Congress, and will work hard to fight the liberal agenda of Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid. Throughout his time in the Senate, Jim has been recognized as a Champion of the Taxpayer by the Arizona Federation of Taxpayers.  It is clear from his record that Jim Waring will be a voice of fiscal restraint and discipline in Congress.

CREATING JOBS

Jim knows that the engine that drives the economy is small business, not the federal government.
Jim has been recognized by the National Federation of Independent Business for his record of support for small business and industry. Raising taxes has never created a job, and Jim will fight against tax increases every day as your Congressman. Jim was named a “Guardian of Small Business” because he knows we need to get government off the backs of our small business owners, and let them do what they do best: create jobs and spur growth.

PROTECTING AMERICA

Our elected officials are charged with no greater responsibility than the duty to protect and defend the United States. Jim Waring has worked hard to protect the people of Arizona in the legislature, and he will work hard in Congress to protect the Arizonans and the American people.

His record stands out, and he’s been recognized by those groups who support our troops most. Jim has been named Legislator of the Year by the National Guard Association of Arizona—three times. He’s been the American Legion’s Legislator of the Year, too. And Jim has worked with law enforcement to provide for a safer Arizona—and he will fight in Congress to ensure we, once and for all, secure our borders and protect our citizenry.

In addition to his many fiscal and public safety legislative accomplishments, Jim has been recognized for his work on behalf of victims of domestic violence. For these efforts, Jim has been named Man of the Year by the Men’s Anti-Violence Network, and twice named Legislator of the Year by the AZ Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
